The application cycle for the 2026-27 academic year opens on November 15th. This will apply to the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Note: Please follow the application guidelines and deadlines as posted for each scholarship accordingly as they do vary between scholarships. Amounts and numbers of available scholarships are estimates, dependent on funding.

Aidan Leaf Mullin Memorial Scholarship
The Aidan Leaf Mullin Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 to honor Aidan Leaf Mullin by supporting an annual scholarship to Humboldt State University students interested in how soils can foster sustainable agriculture. Aidan was born in San Diego, CA in 2002 and moved to Monte Sereno, CA in 2013. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, farming and enjoyed spending time in the Santa Cruz Mountains. In school, he was naturally drawn to the sciences. He was also a gifted guitar player and loved many styles of music, with a particular fondness for the Grateful Dead. He planned to attend Humboldt State University in 2020 to study soils. Unfortunately, Aidan died unexpectedly in 2020 and will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends. Through this scholarships memory lives on. The recipients of the Aidan Leaf Mullin Memorial Scholarship are carefully and thoughtfully chosen as individuals who exemplify spirit and ideals. To support scholarly focus, the selected students will be awarded at least $1,000 to help with tuition, books, and living expenses.
Albert and Mildred Van Duzer Art Scholarship
The Albert and Mildred Van Duzer scholarships are awarded to students in the Art or Theater, Film and Dance departments.
The Van Duzer Scholarship was designated in memory of Albert and Mildred Van Duzer with the stipulation that these scholarships be awarded to worthy Humboldt students, giving preference to students majoring or active in the creative arts. Artistic potential in creative production and performance is the sole criterion for the award. Artistic or creative potential will not be judged as being restricted to those students who are performers, or who are producing works of art, but may also include individuals concentrating in the areas of history, criticism, theory, composition, etc. Up to $1,500 ($750 each semester) per scholarship in the Department of Art, Department of Music and the Department of Theatre, Film and Dance. Must be enrolled full-time at Humboldt at the time of application and during both semesters of the academic year and remain active in the arts at Humboldt.

The Van Duzer Scholarship was designated in memory of Albert and Mildred Van Duzer with the stipulation that these scholarships be awarded to worthy Humboldt students, giving preference to students majoring or active in the creative arts. Alden Burrows Engineering Scholarship
Eligible candidates for the Alden Burrows Engineering scholarship will be Engineering majors, participating members of the Humboldt Society of Women Engineers (SWE) student section or similar organizations, and will demonstrate financial need as determine by the financial aid application.
Ann E. Taylor and Rich Barcelona Friendship Scholarship
The Ann E. Taylor and Rich Barcelona Friendship Scholarship is is awarded to a currently enrolled/continuing junior or senior student with a declared major in Wildlife at Cal Poly Humboldt. Newly admitted students, both freshman and transfers, will not be considered and should not apply for this scholarship. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Preference is given to Junior and Senior students who demonstrate professional promise, are active in extracurricular activities, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Archibald Forestry Pathfinders
The purpose of the Fund is to support a student majoring in Forestry. Scholarship recipient(s) will receive a minimum of $1,000. If the fund grows to a sufficient amount as determined by the Foundation, the scholarship may increase, or it might be awarded to more than one. Student must be enrolled full time. Preference to Junior and Senior students.

Armando John Seghetti Memorial Scholarship
Rose Seghetti established this scholarship in the memory of her brother. Her family immigrated from Italy and settled in Guerneville, CA. She attended Humboldt State Teachers College and graduated with her teaching credential in 1925. She enjoyed teaching for forty years. Rose died two months after her 100th birthday. She was a life member of the Alumni Association. To be eligible, you must be a full-time student and you must have filed a FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application for the year in which you receive the award.

Atkinson Family Economics Scholarship
Scholarship will support a junior or senior student majoring in economics. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Beatrice Peckham Memorial Scholarship
The Beatrice Peckham Memorial scholarship is awarded to a Nursing major with a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA who will be a junior or senior level student in the year of the award.

Bill and Sheri Robison Family Scholarship
The purpose of the Fund is to support students who have graduated from the Fortuna Union High School District who attend Cal Poly Humboldt. Scholarships will be annually awarded a minimum of $1,000 per student. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application. Preference for those students who reside in Loleta.
Blanche G. Williams and Gertrude G. Graham Scholarship
The Blanche G. Williams and Gertrude G. Graham Scholarship is awarded to a full time Humboldt student. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA California Dream Act Application.

Brad Smith Natural Resources and Sciences
The purpose of the fund is to support undergraduate and graduate students within the College of Natural Resources and Sciences. Eligible students maintain good academic standing and meet financial need as determined by the FAFSA or CADAA applications.

Braden C. Hogan Memorial Scholarship
Braden Hogan was a 2005 graduate of the Humboldt Wildlife department. This scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled/continuing junior or senior student with a declared major in Wildlife at Humboldt and a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.5. Newly admitted students, both freshmen and transfers, will not be considered and should not apply for this scholarship. Should demonstrate extracurricular involvement in at least one professional Wildlife club, society or conference.
Brusca Zoology Scholarship
The Brusca Zoology Scholarship is awarded to a full time Biology Graduate student. Must maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA. Presented annually to: Graduate students in their 1st or 2nd year at Humboldt with an exceptional interest and promise in field and/or laboratory studies of Invertebrate Zoology.
Bud Burke Geology
The Bud Burke Geology Scholarship is awarded to a full time Geology student, whose research interests have an emphasis in Geomorphology or Quatenary Geology. The funding for this scholarship is provided via an anonymous donor.
Cal Poly Humboldt Logging Sports Club
The purpose of the Fund is to support the Cal Poly Humboldt Logging Sports Club. Annually. Must be a full time student and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection Preference for students who have:
•completed a minimum of 36 units, with at least one semester of enrollment in Logging Sports Conclave (FOR170) or,
• two semesters of active participation in the Logging Sports Club,
• and/or Forestry majors meeting the minimum unit requirement

Carin Kaltschmidt Computer Science Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarship support for computer science majors with an interest in pursuing a career in web design, gaming, film, or journalism. Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and meet financial need as determined by the FAFSA or CADAA applications.

The Charles Bloom Scholarship is awarded to a full time Humboldt student. Must have demonstrated financial need as determined by the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application.
Chemistry Department Scholarships
The Chemistry Department offers seven distinct scholarships, targeting various groups of Humboldt Chemistry majors. By filling out a single application, you will be considered for each of the scholarships:
- Charles and Judith Ferguson Dvorak Endowment – Awarded to a Chemistry major or a secondary teaching credential with a chemistry major student who demonstrates financial need for scholarship assistance as determined by the FAFSA.
- Humboldt Chemistry Research Scholarship – The Humboldt Chemistry Research Scholarship was established to honor founding faculty within their specialties in the Department of Chemistry at Cal Poly Humboldt, to support faculty interest in undergraduate research, and to promote and encourage undergraduate chemistry research by providing financial support to capable students in this field. Scholarships shall be awarded according to and named after the honored founding chemistry faculty and their respective fields: Clark Organic Chemistry Scholar (Thomas J. Clark), Hanson Physical Chemistry Scholar (Mervin P. Hanson), Russell Inorganic Chemistry Scholar (John B. Russell), Wallace Biochemistry Scholar (Robert A. Wallace), or Weiss Analytical Chemistry Scholar (Roger J. Weiss). Awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior Chemistry student. Must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Students can be awarded the scholarship up to two times.
- Humboldt Chemistry Scholarship – Awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior Chemistry student. Must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Students can be awarded the scholarship up to two times.
- Larry Westmoreland Honored Professor Scholarship in honor of Dr. Jack Russell – The purpose of this scholarship is to honor and memorialize professors who were important to the donor’s Humboldt academic experience and to preserve the memory of these honored professors at Cal Poly Humboldt. The recipient must be a full-time undergraduate majoring in Chemistry. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or Dream application.
- Lorensen Chemistry – This scholarship is intended for a student pursuing a chemistry or biochemistry degree. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to those pursuing a career in a science field, with a medical emphasis.
- Richard Paselk Biochemistry/ Biophysics Scholarship – The purpose of this scholarship is to award students pursuing a course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree at Cal Poly Humboldt. Students must be currently engaged in an approved undergraduate research project with an Humboldt Chemistry faculty member. Students must be enrolled full-time, be at least a sophomore, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better in required major courses.

Christine Lynch and William C. Tanner Scholarship
The Christine Lynch and William C. Tanner scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student with both demonstrated academic merit and financial need as determine by the financial aid application.
Coast Guard Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the funds is to support at least one Cal Poly Humboldt student annually with a minimum $1,000 scholarship. Preference given to a student who served in the US Coast Guard. Second preference to a student who has a parent who served. Must be enrolled full time.
Codoni, Horn, Paine Scholarship
The Codoni, Horn, Paine Scholarship is awarded to a full time Humboldt student. Preference given to to graduates of Ferndale High School first.

Conservation Unlimited is the oldest student club on campus. The CU Alumni Association Scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled/continuing junior or senior student with a declared major in Wildlife at Humboldt. The Craig Hadley Scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a career in weekly newspapering (community journalism).
Crankstart Transfer Scholars
The purpose of the Crankstart Scholarship Program is to grant assistance to California Community College Transfer Students at Humboldt State University. Eligible recipients must have transferred from a California community college within the last four years, are at the undergraduate level and pursuing their first baccalaureate degree, demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application, and currently enrolled and attending classes. Preference will be given to incoming transfers.
CSU Scholarship for Future Scholars
The scholarship program for Future Scholars represents an effort by Cal Poly Humboldt to support the development of students with merit and academic potential who are disadvantaged because of economic, educational, or environmental background. These are awarded to new students to Cal Poly Humboldt. Awarded to a full time incoming freshman of a California high school.

CSU Trustee's Scholarship
In 1999, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation partnered with the CSU Board of Trustees to create the William Randolph Hearst/CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement. Contributions from CSU Trustees. The awards recognize students who have overcome adversity, demonstrated financial need, and have attributes of merit including superior academic performance, significant personal achievements, and exemplary community service. Awarded to a full time student who maintains a 3.0 GPA minimum.
Dan and Cindy Phillips Scholarship
The Fund's purpose is to encourage students from Southern Humboldt to attend Cal Poly Humboldt and earn an undergraduate degree. The Fund is also established with the intent to encourage College of the Redwoods students to transfer to Cal Poly Humboldt to earn an undergraduate degree.

This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a degree in Nursing. The family of Deborah Cline established the scholarship in her memory. Deborah graduated from Humboldt with a BS in Nursing in 1995. She was a professional nurse and spent much of her career in public health nursing. Successful applicants will have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better and have demonstrated financial need by completing a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application.

The Dianne M. Campbell Crow Nursing Scholarship Endowment is established in memory of Cal Poly Humboldt alumna Dianne M. Campbell Crow, a member of the inaugural cohort of Humboldt's Nursing Program and a former professional nurse. The purpose of this endowment is to provide financial support to undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Nursing at Cal Poly Humboldt.

The Dillard Bailey Scholarship was established in 1997 from Marie Dillard who had diverse charitable interests, including education. The scholarship is named for Mrs. Dillard's husband and brother. Awarded to a full time continuing Forestry undergraduate student. Should be enrolled in 6 units of Forestry Coursework. The Don Berry Forestry Scholarship Endowment, named in memory of Cal Poly Humboldt alumnus Don Berry, is intended to support undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree within the Department of Forestry or Fire and Rangeland Management. This scholarship is to support students studying in the Cal Poly Humboldt Nursing program, and in the future, when degree is established in health advocacy. Must meet financial need.

Donald and Andrea Tuttle Climate Fellowship
The Tuttle Climate Fellowship supports SERC Fellowships for Humboldt Graduate students who intend to focus research that furthers the understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives. Graduate students should be engaged in research activities with SERC.
Doris and Thomas Montgomery Scholarship
The Doris and Thomas Montgomery Scholarship is awarded to a full time undergraduate student who attended a Humboldt County high school first and then to a California high school graduate. Recipients must be pursuing research or a major that furthers understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation through the application of science to understand ecosystems and natural resources, or furthers understanding of the policy and social implications of environmental issues. The selected recipients will demonstrate an interest through their research or major in climate. Preference for those students who graduated from a Humboldt County High School. Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Dr. Chester Collins Memorial Psychology Scholarship
The Collins Memorial scholarship is awarded to full-time graduate or undergraduate Psychology majors who have shown evidence of involvement in and commitment to the discipline of psychology, such as evidence of competence in psychology and a desire to engage in a psychology-related career, and who have a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA.
Dr. Everett H. Watkins Memorial Scholarship
The late Dr. Watkins was a local orthodontist and an alumnus of Humboldt. He was past president of the California Wildlife Federation and Sportsmen's Council of Northern California. In addition, he was president of the North Coast Conservation Council, founding director of Salmon Unlimited, and served for 18 years as the Sportsmen's representative on the Forestry Committee. Dr. Watkins was also a former president of the HSU Alumni Association (1951-53), recipient of the Association's Who's Who Award (1971), and 1987 Homecoming King. He died April 4, 1988. This Scholarship is awarded to a full time undergraduate CNRS student. Must have been born in Humboldt, Mendocino, Trinity or Del Norte Counties.
Dr. John L. Harper Memorial Scholarship
Eligible candidates for the John Harper scholarship will be Geography majors, junior or above, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and who consider themselves to be physical geographers. Must be enrolled full time.
Dr. Joseph S. Leeper Geography Scholarship
The Joseph Leeper Geography scholarship is awarded to a Geography major with at least one term completed at Cal Poly Humboldt who has at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and demonstrates interest in Human and Cultural Geography. Eligible freshmen must have completed one semester at Humboldt.
Dr. Marianne Pennekamp Memorial
The purpose of the Fund is to support students who are pursuing a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BASW) students in their senior year, or Master of Social Work (MSW) students in their foundation or advanced year field education program. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or Dream application.

Dr. James Joseph, Director of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission and a 1956 graduate of the fisheries department at Cal PolyHumboldt, established this scholarship jointly with the Tropical Tuna Commission to foster the education of graduate students in fisheries studies, particularly those entering the field of marine fisheries. Having spent virtually all of his career with the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, Dr. Joseph broadens his contributions to the field of marine fisheries in general and the Tropical Tuna Commission in particular through this scholarship endowment. John Furgatch Nursing scholarship
Eden Rubio Furgatch Memorial- This scholarship is awarded to Nursing students who maintains a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA. The Eden Rubio Furgatch Memorial Scholarship was established to honor and memorialize Eden Rubio Furgatch, a 1983 graduate of Humboldt's Nursing program. Eden was passionate about her family, finances, and food. Eating healthy and feeding others brought her great joy. And helping educate other women about taking control of their financial lives was a personal passion of hers. Eden was strong, she was brave, she was a fighter to the very end. Eden did not lose her 20-year battle with cancer, instead her body simply couldn't keep up with her drive. Created in 2021, the Eden Rubio Furgatch Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by her husband, Jacob Furgatch, to support students attending Humboldt to pursue a degree in Nursing.

The Johnston-Aronoff History Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior History student, preferably with an emphasis in the study of California and/ or the Western United States, who has graduated from a Humboldt County charter or high school. Kalb-Halston Award
This award was established by David Kalb, a political science alumnus of Humboldt State University (’76), who served as president of Associated Students. Bruce Haston, a former political science professor at HSU for more than 25 years and a mentor of David Kalb’s while he was a student, also contributes to the award. It is presented annually to a student who has demonstrated personal commitment and leadership by taking an active role in student government, particularly through the Office of Associated Students. The scholarship is intended to support undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree within the Department of Forestry, Fire and Rangeland Management and the Department of Environmental Science and Management. Recipients of the scholarship should demonstrate a strong interest in one or more of the following areas: forest stewardship, sustainable resource management, and environmental conservation and resilience-values that reflect Lars's own service and dedication. Lillian E. Woodward Scholarship
The Lillian Woodward scholarship is awarded to a nursing student. Applicants must have at least 2 semesters of coursework for degree completion and a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA. Lorene J. Harris Scholarship
The Lorene Harris Scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled/continuing junior or senior student with a declared major in Wildlife at Humboldt. Newly admitted students, both freshmen and transfers, will not be considered and should not apply for this scholarship. Preference is given to students who demonstrate professional promise, are active in extracurricular activities, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Lorensen Chemistry
This scholarship is intended for a student pursuing a chemistry or biochemistry degree. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Louis H. Wayers Memorial Forestry Scholarship
The Louis H. Wayers Memorial scholarship was established in 1985 from contributions from alumnae and a large contribution from his parents. Louis attended Humboldt State University as a forestry major, graduating in June of 1970. Just a few short years after receiving an additional Masters degree in Business Administration from Humboldt in March of 1972, Lou was diagnosed as having Multiple Sclerosis. Although his conditioned worsened for ten years, his spirits were always high. What impressed Lou's friends most was his tireless and sincere concern for his friends, even when he was faced with very poor odds of recovering. His friends who knew him well suggested a perpetual scholarship as a memorial. It was established for forestry students with financial need who had at least a junior status so they would be able to attain their educational goals as Louis had. Awarded to a junior or senior Forestry student.

Maggie Griffin
Glenna Cook and her husband, Bob, established this scholarship in 1992 to honor Glenna's grandmother, Maggie Griffin, who was a local Yurok lady. In the tradition of giving back to their community, the Cooks established the Maggie Griffin scholarship for students of federally recognized tribe at Cal Poly Humboldt, where Bob Cook graduated in 1962. They take personal interest in the accomplishments of scholarship recipients by attending graduation ceremonies and other award activities. Awarded to an undergraduate student who meets financial need, has a 2.0 or higher GPA, and is a member of the Yurok Tribe.
Malcolm Oliphant Scholarship in Marine Science
The Oliphant Scholarships in Marine Science will be awarded on the basis of excellence, as judged by the Awards Committee to continuing Humboldt students. Work in progress at the Marine Laboratory in Trinidad will be one factor considered in award of the scholarships. Students working on projects at the Marine Laboratory or working on marine science projects elsewhere that have implications for marine organisms, their environment, or related marine sciences, are encouraged to apply. Academic promise will be demonstrated by scholastic achievement in at least two consecutive semesters of enrollment at Humboldt and by letters provided by two faculty members familiar with the academic achievements of the applicant. Potential or promise for a productive career in some aspect of marine science will be considered. Graduate or undergraduate students must have at least two semesters remaining to complete degree requirements for graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree or a Master's degree.

Mark David Sheive Memorial Scholarship
The Mark David Sheive Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who has received a Baccalaureate degree from Humboldt in Liberal Studies/ Multiple Subjects or other CTC (Commission on Teaching Credentialing) approved major(s) which would lead directly to Multiple Subjects credential without subject matter testing and who has met all of the application requirements for enrollment in the Teacher Preparation/Multiple Subjects credential program with a minimum 3.0 GPA. This would include re-entry students who had graduated from the Liberal Studies/Multiple Subjects program. Awarding of the scholarship is contingent on the applicant's placement in a Multiple Subjects fieldwork classroom.
Mark Petty Bush Memorial Scholarship in Wildlife Management
Mark Bush was a 1979 graduate of the Humboldt Wildlife program. This scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled/continuing junior or senior student with a declared major in Wildlife at Humboldt. Newly admitted students, both freshmen and transfers, will not be considered and should not apply for this scholarship. Martin Wong Scholarship
The Martin Wong Foundation scholarship competition was established to recognize and support excellence in ceramics and painting, the areas in which Martin Wong first pursued his interest in art, and later established his reputation. In 2025, the Foundation will offer three scholarships in painting/2D media (excluding photography) and three scholarships in ceramics/3D media. The first prize in each medium will be in the amount of $4750, second prize in the amount of $2850, and third prize $1900. Since the scholarship is intended to support the continuation of a student's education, we ask their enrollment in classes in the next fall semester be confirmed before awards are disbursed. Previous winners of Martin Wong Foundation Scholarships are ineligible for future awards, and students may only apply in one category each year. We will also continue the Honorable Mention recognition for each medium that was added to the Scholarship program in 2009. In the event matriculation cannot be confirmed for Scholarship winners, Honorable Mention recipients will serve as alternates for dollar awards. Awarded to a full time undergraduate student.

The Mary and Foster Keller Scholarship is a Presidential Scholarship to provide a student of exceptional academic merit with maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better and demonstrated financial need as determined by the application for financial aid. Norton Health Programs Scholarship
To support a student of a federally recognized tribe Cal Poly Humboldt students majoring in a health program. Scholarships will be for a minimum of $1,000 annually.
Nursing Department Scholarships
The Nursing Department has many scholarships for which students can apply, targeting various fields and emphasis of practice for Humboldt Nursing majors. Amounts and numbers of scholarships are estimates, dependent on funding and will ultimately determine those scholarships that are awarded each year. - Diana Pettit Berman Nursing: This scholarship is awarded to Nursing students who have demonstrated an interest in and commitment to serve those economically and/ or socially disadvantaged.
- Geriatric Nursing- This scholarship is awarded to Nursing students who have demonstrated an interest in Geriatric Nursing and maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA.
- Eva Janson- The purpose of the fund is to support students enrolled in the Humboldt Nursing program who hope to practice in Humboldt County in the future as well as to recognize Eva Janson for her over 30 years of service to the local community as a certified nurse-midwife.
- Eden Rubio Furgatch Memorial- This scholarship is awarded to Nursing students who maintains a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA. The Eden Rubio Furgatch Memorial Scholarship was established to honor and memorialize Eden Rubio Furgatch, a 1983 graduate of Humboldt's Nursing program. Eden was passionate about her family, finances, and food. Eating healthy and feeding others brought her great joy. And helping educate other women about taking control of their financial lives was a personal passion of hers. Eden was strong, she was brave, she was a fighter to the very end. Eden did not lose her 20-year battle with cancer, instead her body simply couldn't keep up with her drive. Created in 2021, the Eden Rubio Furgatch Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by her husband, Jacob Furgatch, to support students attending Humboldt to pursue a degree in Nursing.

Richard E. Winnie Scholarship
The Richard Winnie Scholarship is awarded to a full time junior or senior student with a 3.0 GPA or better. Financial need as determined by the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application may be used as a preference. Must be pursuing a major in Business, Economics, English, Environmental Studies, History, International Studies/ Relations, Journalism, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, Sociology, Speech Communication, World Languages/ Cultures. Must demonstrate interest in student activities, student government and/ or the greater Humboldt County community.
Richard Paselk Biochemistry/ Biophysics Scholarship
The purpose of scholarship is to award students pursuing a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree at Cal Poly Humboldt. Students must be currently engaged in an approved undergraduate research project with an Humboldt Chemistry faculty member. Students must be enrolled full time, be at least a sophomore, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better in required major courses. The Robert Cary Scholarship was established in Fall 2006 by Robert Cary's mother. It was Robert's wish that he would be able to help someone in their schooling to realize their goal of working in this wonderful field of Forestry. Schatz Energy Fellowship
The Schatz Energy Fellowship is awarded to a graduate student in the Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) or Energy, Technology, and Policy (ETaP) options of the Environmental Systems Graduate program. All graduate student applicants in the Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) and Energy Technology and Policy (ETaP) pathways of the Environmental Systems program are eligible for fellowship consideration. Student must discuss the line of research or project work proposed to pursue in the graduate application essay. Student must commit to participate in research activities at Schatz Energy Research Center during the year of the fellowship award. Student must research or conduct project work in renewable energy, energy efficiency, or related areas in the clean energy field.
Sean and Robin Bailie Veterans Endowment
The purpose of this endowment is to provide financial assistance to Cal Poly Humboldt students who served in any branch of the United States Uniformed Services. Must have verified status before disbursement of the scholarship. Will be awarded to a student with academic standing as a sophomore or above, full time enrollment, and 3.0 or better GPA.
Sherman Schapiro Eureka High School Scholarship
The purpose of the fund is to encourage enrollment from local high school students wishing to enroll at Cal Poly Humboldt. This newly created endowed fund will support freshman students who are new graduates from Eureka High School or McKinleyville High School.

Smullin Scholarship
Recipients of the Smullin scholarship must be graduates of a High School in Humboldt, Del Norte, Shasta, Trinity, Siskiyou, Tehama, Modoc, Lassen or Butte county and believe in and support the free enterprise philosophy. Must be enrolled full time, meet financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Scholarship is renewable up to four years. Preference given to first generation students.
Social Work Faculty Tribute Scholarship
The Social Work Faculty Tribute Scholarship is awarded to qualified candidates who will be pursuing a baccalaureate or master's degree in social work, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, be enrolled full time and be of junior standing or above. Preference is given to graduates of Humboldt County high schools who meet financial need.
Stanley W. and Lorene J. Harris Scholarship
The Lorene & Stanley Harris Scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled, full-time graduate student in Natural Resources with a declared option in Wildlife at Humboldt. Newly admitted students will not be considered and should not apply for this scholarship. Preference is given to students who demonstrate professional promise and are active in extracurricular activities.
Stanley W. Harris Scholarship
The Stanley W. Harris Scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled/continuing junior or senior student with a declared major in Wildlife at Cal Poly Humboldt. Newly admitted students, both freshmen and transfers, will not be considered and should not apply for this scholarship. Preference is given to students who demonstrate professional promise, are active in extracurricular activities, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Steinberg Family Geospatial Science Scholarship
Scholarships of a minimum of $1000 for one or more students with a declared degree (major or minor) with a geospatial focus, including but not limited to Environmental Science and Management with a Geospatial Concentration; Geography with a Geospatial Systems Option; Geospatial Science and Technology with an ESM Concentration; Geospatial Science and Technology with a Social Science Concentration, or declared the Geospatial Analysis minor, or be enrolled in the Geospatial Certificate Program. Must have completed at least 6 units of coursework with GPS prefix. Must have good academic standing.
Sterling Sam Scholarship
The Sterling Sam scholarship is awarded to Botany majors, or graduate students doing research in Botany. Recipient must attend the Botany Ceremony in April to personally accept the award. The goal of this scholarship is to provide underrepresented students a chance at earning a botany degree, so they can make a positive impact on the community and commitment to the botanical sciences profession. By supporting students of diverse populations, this award aims to reduce the shortage of diverse botanical science professionals. All qualified students are encouraged to apply, including those who belong to one of a number of campus clubs focused on underrepresented students, individuals with a disability, and/or students who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. It is based primarily on academic experience, but field and/or research experience will also be considered. Qualifying seniors and graduate students are invited to apply. Selection will be made by the Botanical Awards Committee.

The Suzanne Seemann Scholarship is awarded to a full time Geography student. Must exhibit character strengths and virtues and capacity for academic achievement as determined by faculty members in the Department of Geography.
Tanner History Scholarship
The William R. Tanner History Scholarship is established in memory of William R. (Bill) Tanner, professor of history at Humboldt State University, 1970 to 1999; founder of History Day at the university; and author of “A View from the Hill”, a history of Humboldt State University. The Scholarship is intended to promote and encourage students pursuing an undergraduate degree in history by providing financial support for educational expenses. Recipients will be selected by a departmental scholarship committee. Eligible students are History majors with a 2.75 or better GPA and demonstrated financial need as determined by the financial aid application. The Joan Boynton Frakes Memorial Scholarship

The Lee-Mossman Scholarship
The purpose of the fund is to encourage research that supports biodiversity by promoting sustainability, health, and productivity, of the worlds' ecosystems by providing a a scholarship to a CNRS graduate student. Recipient GPA must be 3.2 or higher.
Theatre Department Scholarships
By completing and submitting the application for the Theatre Department Scholarships you will be considered for the following opportunities:
- The John and Ethelyn Pauley Scholarship shall be awarded to a graduate or undergraduate student(s) pursuing a Theatre Arts degree. The scholarship shall be awarded to a student(s) who shows creative potential and innovative ability in Theatre Arts.
- The Van Duzer Scholarship was designated in memory of Albert and Mildred Van Duzer with the stipulation that these scholarships be awarded to worthy Humboldt students, giving preference to students majoring or active in the creative arts. Artistic potential in creative production and performance is the sole criterion for the award. Artistic or creative potential will not be judged as being restricted to those students who are performers, or who are producing works of art, but may also include individuals concentrating in the areas of history, criticism, theory, composition, etc. Up to $1,500 ($750 each semester) per scholarship in the Department of Art, Department of Music and the Department of Theatre, Film and Dance. Must be enrolled full-time at Humboldt at the time of application and during both semesters of the academic year and remain active in the arts at Humboldt.
- The James M. Floss Theatre Arts Fund will support students majoring or minoring in Dance, Music, and Theatre Arts or other performing arts, with a focus on Theatre Arts including acting, directing, and storytelling. A $2,000 award will be given annually for a period of five years. Recipients can receive the award only one time.
Thelma and Kasper Ingebritson Scholarship
The Thelma and Kasper Ingebritson Scholarship is named after two lifelong educators devoted to early childhood education and to helping students pursue their education goals. Thelma taught kindergarten in the College Elementary School at Humboldt (then Humboldt State College) from 1952-1969. Kasper was a professor in the Education Department from 1950-1973. The first Ingebritson Scholarship began in the 1991-92 academic year. Over the years, more than 100 students at Humboldt have benefited from scholarships established by Thelma and Kasper Ingebritson. This scholarship is awarded to a Liberal Studies: Child Development or Liberal Studies: Elementary Education major. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application.

Theta Epsilon Alumni Association Memorial Scholarship
Provide support for a Theta Epsilon Alumni Association Memorial Scholarship. Must be a sophomore or higher grade status. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be performing volunteer community service, or have completed, 10 hours of voluntary service. Preference to be given to a descendant of a member of the Theta Epsilon Alumni Association. The applicant will provide verification of linage from the Theta Epsilon Association.

The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships for Humboldt county high school students majoring in any undergraduate track of political science and/or government.
